  1. Safety is first and foremost, the responsibility of the members and guests using the range.
    1. EMERGENCY NUMBERS: 911 or RCMP (Cold Lake detachment) 780-594-3302
  2. Eye and Ear Protection is MANDATORY for ALL SHOOTERS and SPECTATORS.
  3. No person impaired by ALCOHOL OR DRUGS may handle firearms. There will be NO alcohol consumed on the range before or during any shooting event.
  4. Unless specifically approved by the Club Governing Board, this range is restricted to handgun calibres only.
  5. Firearms may only be loaded when on the firing line and ready to shoot. At all other times, they must be unloaded and stored with the action open in either the provided firearm rack or cased.
    1. Shoulder and Cross-Draw holsters are prohibited.
  6. Whenever there are two or more active shooters on the range, one must ACT as the RANGE OFFICER:
    1. Responsible for the overall safety of all users & spectators on the range.
    2. Gives range commands including “Load”, “FIRE” and “CEASE FIRE”.
    3. Shall visually confirm that ALL firearms are unloaded and not being handled during a “CEASE FIRE”.
    4. Informs shooters when they may move forward to change or place targets.
    5. Any person on the range may call a “CEASE FIRE” at any time and for any reason.
  7. The use of the Range Flags is MANDATORY.
    1. A RED flag indicates that the range is in use and live fire is occurring.
    2. A GREEN flag indicates that there are no active shooters on the range.
  8. Firing Point & Target Placement.
    1. Firing may only take place from the shooting stations and firing points that employ physical limitations to elevation, depression and traverse of the firearm.
    2. All targets MUST be placed within 2 meters of the base of the approved backstop or directly in front of approved bullet catchers/traps. Targets must not be placed at any other location on the range.
    3. Only paper targets or alternative targets specifically approved and installed by the Governing Board are allowed.
  9. With the express approval and under the direction of the Club Governing Board, sanctioned events may be held in compliance with the CFO Issued Range Approval. This may include:
    1. Reactive Targets
    2. Low velocity shotgun on a horizontal plane or less.
    3. Rifles cartridges included in Template Group .22 HV (P1, P10, R1 & R10) and Template Group .223 Remington (R3 & R12)
